Regenerative Medicine (REGEN-MED)

Regenerative Medicine (REGEN-MED)

  • Growth factor rich composition for skin cosmetic application
  • Extracellular vesicles (EVs) for cosmetic application
  • Specific growth factors’ cocktail as therapeutic for wound healing and joint conditions such as Osteoarthritis, tendon or ligament injuries. Etc.

Osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis (OA) is prevalent throughout the world. It is estimated that 300 million individuals worldwide are living with OA. It is the leading cause of disability in older adults and leads to pain, loss of function, and decreased quality of life. There is no specific cure for OA. The existing treatments can be broadly categorized into intra-articular therapy, reduction of modifiable risk factors, physical modalities, alternative therapies, and surgical treatments.

We want to use growth factors or mediators that are found in human tissue fluids, to enhance the repair and regeneration of the articular cartilage of various joints, such as the knee, hip, shoulder etc., We characterize such tissue fluids for growth promoting properties, isolate and separate them by novel proprietary methods to screen for such growth promoting and regenerating activity.

Exosomes

Exosomes are tiny carriervesicles (30-150 nm) with RNA, proteins and lipids. They are secreted by all types of cells, with different compositions.

Role of Exosomes

Exosomes can influence biologic activity of the different cells. The surface receptors cells recognize the exosomes, which then fuses to the target cell membrane and get ingested through endocytosis by the target cell.

Potential Use of Exosomes:

The composition of RNA, proteins and lipids in the exosomes derived from stem cells can rejuvenate cells affected by aging and thus improve:

  • Cell proliferation
    • Skin care
    • Hair care
  • Hyperpigmentation
